Zwölf
Herbert.
Even on first listen, I really like this!
The week at the office was turbulent. It ended peaceful so I am in no mood to recall everything bad that happened this week to write it down here. Let's just say that X turned himself into something of a father figure on Friday afternoon. It does feel weird to be so close to him and not to know for certain what his intentions are. I like to think that it's my abilities and him trying to protect me from the powers that be. I never knew I could bring this sort of protective instinct out of a man. LOL. The fact that he doesn't scare me and so far has not once made me feel uncomfortable is reason enough to be very careful. I still have a job to do and it requires arguing with him at times. It's hard to argue with a friend and as unlikely as it may seem, we are quickly becoming just that: friends. If it ain't friends, it's some other weird bond. Call it what you want, when I really think about it this does make me nervous. LOL
I am going out tonight with Katja, Dirk and Sabine.
I'll write more tomorrow. Maybe.

Hi Daniel. Thanks for your comment on Zwölf. I do like the album for its ballads. Lyrically, I agree with your critique but I don't mind triviality on love songs as long as the song can capture me through melody and a catch phrase. My favourite songs right now are "Du bist die", "Marlene", "Leb in meiner Welt" und "Ich versteh". A couple of others are quickly growing on me.
Musically, this is Herbert. Unique in his own way but not revolutionary.
The one song I really hate is "Flüsternde Zeit". It's pathetic. The lyrics are old and awful. But I suppose, he can't do without a song like this on an album. Although, this one is worse than others. LOL.
There isn't a pearl like "Bleibt alles anders" on this record but it's a fine album. Easy to listen to. Then again, I am not sure that's a compliment for a Grönemeyer album.
Have a sunny Sunday yourself and let me know your favourite songs.
We're not too much apart: "Du bist die" captures me. "Ich versteh" as well. "Zieh deinen Weg" - a song for his children - is a little pathetic but contains some awesome phrases. And finally: "Kopf hoch, tanzen". My office was laughing loudly when I presented them the teaser on focus.de with that line: "Warum ist Ingenieursein nicht glamurös?" Yeah, why not actually ;) This song is really dynamic and I can already see myself dancing at the concert.
Are you going to the Munich concert? I am...
Hopefully Leipzig - the first concert of the tour. I bought tickets on the grey market ;) Didn't receive them yet... Are there still tickets for Munich?
Yes, there are still tickets for Munich. That's the only concert I am going to so far. I heard he is going to play in der Semperoper im August. Aber da an Karten ranzukommen, wird sicher net so leicht. *unsure*
Nice rumors - hab's grad herausgegoogelt. Da bin ich mal gespannt, ob das was wird mit der Semperoper.
Too bad I don't care about Grönemeyer too much. He depresses me. I need dancable music on every album.
But where, oh where, is the long promised "write more tomorrow. Maybe." post? I know, you said "maybe", but not in one and the same sentence. :-P

Herbert. I'm not impressed. The sound resembles a mixture of "Mensch" and "Bleibt alles anders". Unfortunately one can clearly hear certain themes of older songs again. Anyway it's still a good piece of music.
Concerning lyrics he could not keep up with "Mensch" standards but there are some pearls. Sometimes he's too abstract for my taste and simultanously too trivial. I'm looking forward to your more elaborated statements on that album ;)
Have nice sun-day!
