Friendly Takeover?

X has officially started his takeover bid for me today. I should have seen it coming but I was still surprised that everything happened so quickly. He sent over one of his employees today to test the waters. I was asked if I could imagine doing this and that for them. No small things but regular tasks that X is handling himself right now. Their "offer" includes having a permanent (second) office here and handling business and communication with them.

His employee, who I am quite close to, laid out their proposal in detail. I told her that I was interested but that they need to make an official bid through my bosses (Z and B) and I also told her that they were optimistic to think my bosses would agree to this as it would be seen as a final step before I'd be switching to them for good. She said they knew it was an up-hill battle but that they wanted me for the job and that X was going to do everything in his power to get Z's approval. X's employee also said that if they are going to fail, they are going to find another way to ensure I can work for them if I wanted to. I said, I am open to everything but I am not leaving unless I can take my SAP account with me. LOL. I want to keep doing my current job as well as the new stuff.

This is going to be fun when my bosses learn of it.

Sounds good.

Let's cross our fingers.

Yeah. I am feeling a little ill though at the moment. I spoke to X this morning (met him on the way to work) and he said he has detailed plans for me and that he is going to introduce them to the department boss very, very soon. He said it is going to be a demanding task but he knows that's what I want. So no problem from this side...

but... there is of course my bosses. I spoke to my boss about an hour ago and said we needed to talk today. She said "that sounds serious". I said it is serious. She asked if she could get a hint and I just pointed my finger to the office where X resides. LOL. That's when she started to look shocked/ angry. I told her not to worry about it until we talk. She had to leave for a meeting at that point. That's where she still is now. I am dreading our talk but I know that I cannot wait until she learns about this from the department boss. That would be even more disloyal. She needs to know what's coming...

Good choice to talk to her before.
