Dreamgirls

It's high noon and I still haven't got out of bed. It won't be long though until I will because I need to wash my hair and get ready to go downtown.

We're meeting my brother in the city, then go to Starbucks. Later on, we'll have dinner and then tonight it's gonna be Dreamgirls at the Cinema. That's almost too much action for my liking but I guess I can't sit at home all the time.

I bought Michael Crichton's Next yesterday and (being about 100 pages into it) I have to say he keeps getting worse. He used to be such a great author but these days he is dull and I am not sure I'll pick up his next book. Is it just me or what happened to him? Maybe it's this annoying preaching, his agenda, that I dislike. But mostly, his books are just boring and confusing. But hey, there is still a chance Next could get better on the 400 pages I haven't read yet. Else, this might just be another one of the books I never finish.

On Friday afternoon, I was invited by X to attend a speech he was giving yesterday at the city hall. I declined though, not because I wasn't interested, but because I didn't know who else would be there and because I can do without all the rumours that I know were to run rampant if somebody saw me there. I am not hinting at affair rumours, I am talking about the power struggle between my bosses and him and attending his speeches wouldn't exactly be seen as a sign of loyalty on my part. Since I got another speech about that on Friday morning, I decided it was better to be careful for a day or two.

But anyway, this is the weekend and work is two days away. I'm off to the bathroom. Bye.

So is there party power play in this as well? (are they all in the same party?)

As for Crichton, I've heard, er I mean read, that this is his "oh ok we ARE fucking up the world" book? Only read one of his books before. :P

X is Green. I know that my boss is Red and Z is either Red or nothing at all. I don't think the fact that they are in different parties plays much of a part because the ruling government here in Munich is a Red-Green-coalition. I guess the reason why they are pissed at X is that if he doesn't get what he wants at our department, he will get it somehow through the local parliament because he has these very good connections. Told ye he used to be leader of the Bavarian Greens. He is very interested in a leaner public management where less money gets wasted. She is one of those who put people first: she mostly cares that no one gets fired. For the first time, we are able to actually say how much certain things cost (through SAP). I do all these charts and stuff and give them to X who uses them to advance his own agenda (which I share despite being RED! LOL). Z wants to limit what numbers I can give out because she is afraid he is going to outsource certain tasks and that will cost government jobs. Eventually, there will be less government jobs but we owe the current process to the tax-payer. Anyway, it's Sunday morning and I better stop. Have a nice Sunday!!
