Maneater
My mood as I write this is very different from that of my last entry. Yes, the roller coaster ride continues and right now, I am on my way up.
I've done two presentations at work this week and both went very well. The more often I'm giving these speeches, the less anxious I am and the better I do. Honestly, doing well at my job is a source of pleasure for me. I'm always a bit on the lazy side but when I have to deliver I do. I've got great confidence in my abilities in that aspect of my life.
One night ago, I spoke to Leo for a very long time and it helped take some of the pressure off me. It made the pain go away for a few days, hopefully longer. And it reassured me that there is hope. And there are feelings not just on my side. Guess I'll give him a little more time to decide what he wants.
This afternoon, I spent a lot of time on discussing the massacre of Haditha and the Iranian President with people on a forum. It is interesting how well-accepted anti-Jewish bias is in certain intellectual circles of the European left. Worriesome, too. But it makes for great discussion and I thoroughly enjoyed writing these long pieces on how Ahmadinejad is making people fall into his trap. Believe me, a lot of smart people fall for his anti-Semitic rhetoric.
Tomorrow, I have the day off. Figured I'd do some cleaning and pick up my mom from the airport to receive that fresh strawberry cake she brings from Dresden. She's only staying a day this time around so it's no big deal.
Finally, I got to say that I love Nelly Furtado's new single. It's just awesome.
TTYL.

I really don't consider Ahmadinejad anti-Semitic. Anti-Israeli certainly, but not anti-Seminitic. Isn't he right when he suggests that Israel has been established by killing thousands - including children, by making million refugees, by detroying homes and openly carrying out assissinations of people? Isn't he right that the United States is culpable in this by protecting and funding the Israeli nation?
Isn't Ahmadinejad right when he says that every nation has a right to progress technologicaly? Who has Iran attacked? Why is okay for the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China, India, Pakistan - or Israel for that matter to have nuclear weapons - but Iran not? Is it that we are afraid Israel really will be wiped off the map - or are we just afraid of Iran becoming a more powerful nation - that isn't willing to become a part of the 'American Empire'?
I am disgusted that we are falling for American - Israeli rhetoric for fear of being labelled anti-Semitic. Ahamadinejad has the upper hand so he can push as far as he likes. Iran is not isolated - despite American/Israeli attempts. And Iran is no Iraq. Action against Iran would surely inflame the Islamic world - and we can't afford the consequences of that.
Ahmadinejad says the Holocaust never happened, therefore he probably also believes the Jews have no reason to receive support and a place to live in peace.
I think it's a valid question whether the Holocaust happened, it's okay to ask questions, but after all the proof there is, you need to have some sort of motive to deny it ever happened.
Actually he doesn't say it DIDN'T happen. He questions whether it did and suggests that all existing research is biased because Western-funded, and those who come to a different conclusion are incarcerated.
Oh and - ONG Mark's alive?!
LOL, and do you think that sort of suggestion makes it better? Though I must say, I don't really care about him and whatever his opinion is. Whatever floats his boat. I am still against war in Iran. It's gonna be even worse than this war against Iraq and its outcome.
No it doesn't make it better, but there's a difference.
He's clearly crazy.... but he's kinda interesting. *g*
I find it amusing how he plays people's minds. I doubt he means everything serious, but he probably likes to know that they take him serious, but knows that they're afraid of making their threats against him come true.
